Increasing the capacity of nonprofit and community development organizations

In 2011, the WCI was implemented by the leadership of an 11 member (public-private partnership) Governance Council. Staff was hired to facilitate and execute priorities in the Corridor. Staff was also hired in several of the partner organizations as an indirect result of the Living Cities investment. The Initiative began to engage the community and other nonprofit partners around vital and complex social and development issues. The WCI also started to share its story through the development of a number of communications tools.  In the coming months, we will begin an effort to share what we've learned with other organizations across the City of Detroit.  Check back for future updates.
